Boys and girls who are practicing karate from all over the world will gather in "Okinawa, the birthplace of karate" for the 1st Okinawa Karate World Junior Tournament, a tournament held with the aims of furthering the preservation, succession, and development of traditional Okinawa karate and kobudo. Beyond Okinawa karate techniques, these young athletes will learn about the spirituality of Okinawa karate that respects politeness and consideration to one's opponent, as well as coming into contact with different cultures through international competition and collaboration.

Basic Policy

- ① The Executive Committee of the 1st Okinawa Karate World Junior Tournament will be responsible for coordinating this event which will be held in cooperation between each Okinawa traditional karate and kobudo ryuha/kaiha along with other related organizations and groups.
- ② This tournament will be an event where participants get the opportunity to take full advantage of the many aspects of traditional Okinawa karate and kobudo developed in this prefecture, learning not only the techniques but also the spiritual essence of these practices.
- ③ A variety of different projects aimed at the preservation, succession and development of traditional Okinawa karate and kobudo will be carried out, while creating a space for interactions between local karate enthusiasts and those coming to Okinawa from abroad.
- ④ This tournament will contribute to the promotion of tourism within the prefecture as well as international exchanges through introducing the traditional culture and rich natural environment of Okinawa to the tournament participants.
- ⑤ Through exchanges, this tournament will contribute to the development of international human resources.
