Recruitment of Referees for The 2nd Okinawa Karate World Junior Tournament
In preparation for The 2nd Okinawa Karate World Junior Tournament, we are looking for judges for Okinawa traditional karate at the tournament.
Subject of Application
(1) Karate and Kobudo Dan in related divisions: 3-Dan or higher
(2) Members of 4 member organizations of Okinawa Dento Karatedo Shinkokai (All Okinawa Karatedo Federation, Okinawa Karatedo Rengokai, Okinawa Karate and Kobudo Renmei, Okinawa Prefecture Karatedo Federation)
(3) Those who are not a member of any of the above organizations and who have received a recommendation from a dojo owner in Okinawa Prefecture *Required documents are to be submitted.

Points to consider
When applying to be a referee, please keep the following in mind.
- The referees to be recruited this time must have a Dan level of 3-Dan or higher.
- The following are the requirements for becoming a referee, including attendance at referee training sessions.
(1) Referee training sessions will be held approximately 10 times from September to December 2023 and from April to July 2024.
(2) Those who will be referees for the Okinawa Prefectural Qualifying Round (scheduled to be held from January to February 2024) must, in principle, attend at least half of the training sessions before the qualifying round.
(3) Those who will be referees for the preliminary rounds for overseas, mainland Japan, remote islands of Okinawa, and main tournament (August 9-12, 2024) must take a total of four or more times of the sessions.
(4) Referees from overseas, mainland Japan, and remote islands of Okinawa will be encouraged to participate in the referee training sessions to be held from September to December 2023 as much as possible, but no requirement will be set for the number of times they must attend. However, participation in the referee training session on August 7, 2024 shall be mandatory.
(5) Overseas, mainland Japan, and remote islands of Okinawa referees who participate only in the referee training session on August 7, 2024, should carefully read the instruction manual (under preparation) prepared by the tournament secretariat.
