Thank you very much for your registration to participate in (the preliminary rounds of mainland Japan / Overseas of) the competition of the 1st Okinawa Karate International Tournament. This is the important announcement of the Tournament, so please make sure to read this thoroughly.

Registration of Participants

• Date and Time: 10:00 – 20:00 on Wednesday, August 1
• Place: Cellular Park inside Onoyama Park (Next to Prefectural Budokan)

• Precautions:

• A “confirmation sheet” and an “ID with a photo” are two required items for registration. Since the confirmation sheet can be printed out from the registration site, please check it beforehand.
• Each participant must register to receive an ID card and a bib number.
• Registration by the group representative and/or a proxy is accepted. In this case, the group representative/proxy must bring all the required documents, which are aforementioned two items, of the participant(s) he/she is registering for.
• Since the bib number is a sewing type, please be sure to sew it on the back of Karate-gi before the day of your match.
• Only the participants, coaches, and people concerned and related to the event, are allowed to enter the competition area. Please wear your ID card inside of the area.
• If you are unable to register on August 1 for unavoidable circumstances, please register at the registration desk of the following venue on or after August 2; Open hours is 11:00 – 18:00 on August 2 and 9:00 – 10:00 on August 3.

Important Notice

Competitions

• Details of match time of each event, the implementation method of preliminary rounds (e.g. preliminary groups, performance order, the conditions to advance to the main Tournament), and the implementation method of the main Tournament (e.g. tournament table) will be determined by the Executive Committee, and these information, along with the participants’ name list(s), will be posted on the homepage of the Tournament.
• A participant of Kobudo must have his/her weapon inspected at a given time on the day of the Tournament.
• For each match, the participants must write a Kata name they will perform on “Declaration Form” on the reverse side of the ID card, and submit it to a score-keeper at each court 10 minutes before a match starts.
• Concerning the official uniforms and Kata selection, please confirm them in “Competition Rules and Regulations” and “Judge and Referee Regulations” on the Tournament homepage. Anybody who violates the regulations may be treated as disqualified.
• Please bring your ID card and register at the registration desk at the venue on the day of your match.
• Anyone who forgets his/her bib number and the ID card on the day of match will be treated as “conceding/abandoning” the Tournament. Additionally, neither the bib number nor the ID card will be reissued for any reasons.

Others

• There is no exclusive parking space for the participants at the venues. Please use public transportation.
• If you need to come by car, please park the car at Naha Military Port which is open as a temporary parking space. Please use a free shuttle bus service from the port to each venue.
• Please secure your valuables and luggage, and pick up after yourself to keep the venues clean during the Tournament.

Opening Ceremony

• Date and Time: 12:30-14:00 on Wednesday, August 1
• Place: Okinawa Prefectural Budokan Arena
• Precautions

• Please wear Karate-gi to attend the ceremony
• Dressing rooms at Okinawa Cellular Stadium at Onoyama Park (next to Prefectural Budokan) are available from 10:00 am.
• Please gather at the Cellular Park at Onoyama Park (next to Prefectural Budokan) by 12:00pm, which is 30 minutes before the ceremony starts.
• Please line up and march into the venue based on the guidance and instructions of the staff.
• Please secure your valuables by yourself.
• Please finish your lunch before the gathering time. Having lunch inside of Cellular Park is prohibited.

Closing Ceremony

• Time and Date: 16:30 – 18:00 on Sunday, August 5分
• Place: Okinawa Prefectural Budokan Arena
• Precautions

• All participants including those participated in repechage matches.
• Please wear Karate-gi.
• Please use dressing rooms in Budokan
• For the participants of Shuri/Tomari-te kei; please gather at Rensei dojo No. 1 in Budokan and for the participants of Naha-te kei, Uechi-ryu kei, and Kobudo (Bo and Sai), please gather at Rensei dojo No.2 in Budokan by 16:00, 30 minutes before the ceremony starts.
• Please line up and march based on the guidance and instructions by the staff.
• Please secure your valuables by yourself.

Exchange Meeting (Farewell Party)

• Time and Date: 18:30-20:30 on Tuesday, August 7 (Door opens at 18:00)
• Place: Kariyushi Urban Resort Naha;（https://urbanresort-naha.kariyushi-inb.com/en-gb）“Nirai Kanai” room on the 6th floor
• Precautions

• There will be a free shuttle bus service from Budokan to the hotel.
• Please be informed that there will be no shuttle bus service from the hotel after the party.
• Please bring your ID card to attend the party.

Information on Opening Ceremony and Closing Ceremony (Award Ceremony)

Regarding the participation in opening ceremony and marching

At the opening ceremony, both competition and seminar participants will march into the venue as follows. Please note that the assembly of the entrance march and the opening ceremony venue are different.

Entrance marchers

• All competition participants (from overseas, mainland Japan, and Okinawa)
• All seminar participants (from overseas, mainland Japan, and Okinawa)

Uniform

• Karate-gi
• Dressing room at Okinawa Cellular Stadium Naha in Onoyama Park (next to Budokan) are available from 10:00 a.m. on the day.

Assembly

• Time: Wednesday, August 1st, 2018
12:00 (30 minutes before start of Opening Ceremony)
• Assembly: Cellular Park in Onoyama Park (next to Budokan)
• Precautions
* Please wear karate-gi.
* Please follow the guidance and instructions of the staff.
* Please secure your valuables by yourselves.
* Please finish lunch before gathering. Meal in Cellular Park is prohibited.

At the closing ceremony (award ceremony), the competition participants will march into the venue as follows.

• Time: Sunday, August 5th, 2018 16:00 (30 minutes before start of Closing Ceremony)

The Participation Application for Competition (Overseas & Mainland Japan Preliminaries) and Okinawa Karate Seminar

The application deadline will be 23:59 on Saturday, March 31st (Japan time) for:

・Competition (Overseas and Mainland Japan Preliminaries) to be held on
Thursday, August 2 and Friday, August 3.

・Okinawa Karate Seminar to be held on Monday, August 6 and Tuesday, August 7.

Those who wish to participate in the tournament, please apply by the application deadline and paying the admission fee.

Duration of the Tournament (Preliminary Rounds in Okinawa)

The competition tournament (preliminary rounds in Okinawa) on Saturday March 24 and Sunday March 25 will be held at the following schedule and venue.  We will notify the detailed schedule of each day on our website when it has been decided, and we will also send the program to participants in around the beginning of March.

Saturday March 24

・Okinawa Karate Kaikan: Kobudo (Bo)

・Okinawa Prefectural Hall of Martial Arts (Budokan): Shurite-kei, Tomarite-kei

Sunday March 25

・Okinawa Karate Kaikan: Nahate-kei

・Okinawa Prefectural Hall of Martial Arts (Budokan): Uechi ryu-kei, Kobudo (Sai)
