The 3rd Okinawa Karate World Festival Demonstration Event Implementation Guidelines

1. Purpose

These guidelines establish the necessary provisions for the implementation of The 3rd Okinawa Karate World Tournament Demonstration (hereinafter referred to as the “Demonstration Event”) to deepen international and technical exchanges among karate enthusiasts from Okinawa, Japan, and abroad, and to showcase the techniques and spirit of Okinawa karate.

Sunday, August 2, 2026

Okinawa Convention Center

4. Performers, etc.

(1) The representative performers (or conductors) shall represent the various karate and kobudo styles and schools within Okinawa Prefecture (hereinafter referred to as “prefectural style/school”), and shall be determined by the Demonstration Special Committee.
(2) Performers other than those specified in item (1) shall be determined by the Demonstration Special Committee in accordance with the selection criteria for the Demonstration Tournament. As necessary, advice and cooperation may be sought from the Okinawa Dento Karatedo Shinkokai.
(3) Regarding performers for boys and girls, the appropriate number of performers will be determined by the Demonstration Special Committee.
(4) With regard to the performers, consideration shall be given to the ratio of performers from within Okinawa, mainland Japan, and overseas so as to achieve the objectives stated in 1 above.
(5) Due to venue size and program structure, participant numbers are limited. However, the Secretariat will make adjustments to allow as many general karate practitioners as possible to participate.

5. Content and Demonstration Categories, etc.

(1) The demonstration content shall utilize the distinctive features of each karate and kobudo style/school, inheriting the traditional techniques cultivated in Okinawa.
(2) The demonstration categories, number of participants, and time allocation shall be determined by the Demonstration Special Committee.

6. Application Procedures

(1) Applications must be submitted through the chief representative of each style/school.
(2) The demonstrations by boys and girls are not eligible for application and will be selected by the Demonstration Special Committee.

7. Others

In addition to what is stipulated in these guidelines, necessary matters will be separately determined by the Demonstration Special Committee.
